The city stretches over 0.77 square miles, out of which 0.30% of water, according to the US Census Bureau. Moreover, the city is home to 155 people. The population density of this area is 201.8 people per square mile. The racial makeup is 88.61% White, 7.59% African American, and the rest belong to other races.

The city of Hodges is named after Major General George Washington Hodges. He is the commander of the South Carolina's military. Moreover, Hodges was born in September 1792 and died in March 1876. He was also present in the war of 1812, and his grave is in the northeast part of the town. The city operates under a mayor-council form of Government. The mayor is Michael George.
